Christmas time inked ornaments

I tried something new this year Scrapbook.com pigment reinkers in metallic frost and metallic gold. I was pleased with the way they filled in around the acrylic inks and alcohol inks.

I made this color scheme for my sister who uses these colors in her house.

ATC's for All Trash to Treasure Challenge

 Challenge is to use three or more items from the package sent. El Gorrito means "Little Hat" the crown was from a stamp on the envelope, the robot is the backing of a foam robot. The flower in hand is from a plant catalog.

Year of the Rat is a stamp from the envelope, a piece of cotton string and burlap bag strings

Ornaments with paint and canned air and mica powder

I've been having fun making ornaments. The Pebeo Prisme paint gave this one a nice honeycomb texture. The micas give it beautiful gold and red shimmer. The blue spray fills in some holes.

Pushing The Bounds

I like the the swaps on http://www.atcsforall.com push my boundaries. This card is for a swap JAPAN. We picked 3 numbers and got 3 words. Mine were Ninja, anime/manga and Washi

Ok - had to look up to see what an anime even was. I think this girl might be either an anime or a ninja. Just googled ninja and maybe she doesn't qualify but hey - it's art so I'm going with it! She might end up even being a practice card - they aren't due until August.

Think with washi there isn't much choice but to put a bunch of washi tapes on a card - not sure how to make that really creative.

MAGIC MUSHROOMS

I love using GOLDEN heavy duty paint. I got a jar of Iridescent Copper Light (Fine) when Pearl's went out of business and it makes a great border to the ATC's. It dries with some depth but doesn't crack. I was playing with that and some Speedball Ink that I got at the same sale a couple of nights ago. Didn't like the look of the dark blue speedball until I decided to throw some glitter on it and make mushrooms.

For the background I used gimmer mists Green distress spray. The bright green dots are Daler Rowney FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic.

I wanted the mushrooms to be wacky so I cut them out freehand and created the gills using a white sharpie marker with some gold wink of stella.
